On Friday, September 3, my horse Snitch died unexpectedly after a brief illness, taking a big piece of my heart with him.
Snitch (Selket Raider) was 24, and our relationship began back in Michigan when he was a year old. A playful prankster, Snitch was here with me when I established the sanctuary in 2013. He greeted each horse who became part of our sanctuary family (assuring each one they had come to the right place!?) Snitch had a way with gates…a way opening them. He greeted me each morning when I arrived at the barn with a whinny and paced at the pasture gate in the late afternoon reminding me it was time to bring the horses in for dinner. He would often nuzzle my shoulder when I led him out to the pasture. He seemed to never stand still. I will always miss him.
Snitch is buried out back at the edge of the woods. It’s a peaceful place where I can go, and sometimes when the breeze blows through the trees, he doesn’t seem so far away.

Kathy-I am very sorry to hear of Snitch’s passing. Our animals definitely hold a special place in our hearts.

Keeping you and Snitch in my thoughts. It’s wonderful how you complemented each other and I’m sorry for the hole in your heart now Kathy.
